Who, exactly, is The Web's Infamous Aunty?
I am that chick next door who grew up to be the coolest mom, the greatest wife, the only writer that you know who actually stands behind the words she writes and who does not, under ant circumstances or for anyone, change who she is in writing, in thought, in person. You will never get a more candid truth than when you ask your favorite Auntie...I am not one to mince words - I will tell you like it is.
I could sit here and just kind of bore you with niceties and trivialities about what I think of this or that, but then where would that leave me in terms of where to send you to read my writing? that is what this is really all about - I am a writer. AND ask anyone who knows me, regardless if whether or not they care much about me...they all say the same thing about me. Love me or hate me - most of the time people agree with what I write about. I do not write for people who have multiple college degrees. I write for the people whose voice has been muffled out by the drowning sounds of life itself. When it seems that no one listens to you, there I am, listening for the words that pour from your soul instead of your mouth. I have been right there where you are and I know that it SUCKS more than MUCH ELSE THAT SUCKED BEFORE IT!
I am a champion for the underdog, a voice for the ignored, your guardian angel...think of me as the Anti-Muse.
So, "Aunty," what is your mission in life???
My mission in life is simple-
-To bring a better understanding to the world of the word "Love"...I am an ordained minister - It's my job to spread the Aloha!
-Write for anyone, no matter the project. Believe me - I am a magician when it comes to words.
-Be a compassionate contributor to the eternal and Universal bank of Cosmic Wisdom and Unconditional Love
-Be the example for those women whose lives have been tossed around by people -namely the men in their lives - -who feel like the Goddess made women because God told her she
could probably do well with a part time job.
-Be an example, period...
-Send you to the website where my books are for sale! (I wrote three...got two more in the works!! )
Aunty....we noticed that you changed your site a bit...where are all the little hula girls and where, for godsake did the pics of you in hula garb go?
I hung up my hula skirt, choosing instead to bring my message to the world using what I was intended to use - my brain, not my ass, to do my work. There are so many things that need to be undone not only regarding me, but regarding women in general. Lots has been done already, but more can be done. My website is a starting place for that. With a new social network (Labor Pains - the Social Network for Hip, Entrepreneurial Moms), a new blog (The Luminous Heart) to add to Brain Tissue (which has been moved to the Today.com network), ministerial spiritual guidance and coaching for those who are not quite religious, no where near traditional, and who believe in alternate realities. There is SO much happening right now that it is nice to have a middle ground.
I miss dancing Hula, teaching Hula, but I sure do not miss all the competition, all the drama, all the crap that happens with being a hula instructor. Everyone seems to want you to follow a certain set of unwritten rules that so do not apply here in the Mainland. I would rather and sooner just be a Good Human Being, because that is what it means to be a good Hawaiian...to ho'oponopono - or to make right. That is my job, my mission, my madness. No, not to right all the wrongs, but to make sense of lots the wrongs.
Does that make any sense?
